Breeder rules

IF YOU ARE A BREEDER, READ.


If you are a “Breeder” you must abide by these rules.

You must not sell to pet shops. The reason is that you are not able to properly screen adopters and keep track of rats that have been adopted and keep track of their health and etc. The general consensus of pet shops is that they are the bane of our quest in helping our rat friends.

Absolutely no posting/advertising litters on this website. You can have a link to your rattery in your signature if you are approved only. Please message one of the mods in order to get this application.

If you are a breeder, do not get offended when people harshly question or interrogate you. Grow some skin, and answer the questions. You WANT to answer questions. If you get butthurt, get over it. You have to be prepared for criticism.

Please use appropriate bedding, food, cages, breeding methods and appropriate vet care. You are a breeder and you are breeding for the sake of the rat and to better the rat as a whole.


FEEDER BREEDERS:


No discussions of feeding live rats to snake. This should be obvious.

Any pictures of live feeding will get you banned, period. No questions asked.

You must feed f/t only. If you cannot, we do NOT want to hear about it. At all. EVER. For the sake of you and us, keep it quiet.

We want the rats to be cared for properly, and vetted. You are welcome to ask questions, and receive advice. If advice is given, PLEASE TAKE IT. There is a reason you are asking and there is a reason we are answering.

In reference to the rule above, please keep your rat on an appropriate diet, bedding, and cage. No tanks, to pine or cedar, no hamster or seed mix. End of story.

Please do not talk about how many litters you have, or advertise. Refer to rules of breeders.

We have a “3 strikes you’re out” system. After 3 offenses/warnings you will be banned. We are no nonsense about breeding.
